Any suggestions for something that has a good amount of traffic but also formatting that's convenient for dipping in a few times a day? r/osr meets these criteria even though I was very unhappy with this moderation decision. r/theosr of course has the same format, but basically no traffic besides an RSS of Tenkar and Grognardia. There are plenty of Discords, but I can't keep up with the firehose format.
Basically, I'd like a suggestion for something based on threads and upvotes but that has good moderation. Skeptical such a thing exists but would be grateful if it does.
In my view they had a simple task. The kerfuffle arising at your name wasn’t external, it was a handful of regular users. Had they been moderated strictly and consistently the situation would have improved. Choosing otherwise was their commitment to a failed moderation policy.
If there aren’t enough moderators etc, that means it’s a failing platform; but the chances that the moderation situation isn’t a self perpetuating set of maladaptations is approximately zero.
I can confirm that Mr Macris has repeatedly and clearly stated that his preference is to “not be where he’s not welcome” and any advocacy of Reddit in the ACKSosphere has been to the tune of “guys it’s not an irredeemable shithole, it’s a good forum for discussion”.
I'm not trying to disparage you, but when you decided to completely stop getting involved in politics, you kinda became their "success story" on how to shut down people from being conservative/libertarian in the RPG industry, so now they have a vested interest in keeping you their success story as much as they can, since you have become kind of a big deal in the OSR scene. That's why they will always go after your products even if you are no longer political. They need to make sure that you know how you are not welcome in "their" industry because you haven't outright repented and denounced everything that you believe in.
The more you moderate your opinions and behavior because of these people, the more you show them that their tactics work.
When you asked Our Lord to make your enemies ridiculous, do you think maybe you laid it on a bit thick?
Mistakes were made!
Reddit is cancer.

There's an Autarch/ACKS subreddit but the traffic is not substantive at the moment. Beyond that, I don't visit Reddit... :-|
