The Art of the ACKS II Monstrous Manual and Star-Spangled Squadron Vol II

Today I’m excited to show off the graphic novel’s cover - or, I should say, a cover, as we’ll be offering two variant covers. I’m also delighted to reveal the cover of the new Monstrous Manual for Adventurer Conqueror King System II.

The cover of the Ascendant: Star-Spangled Squadron Vol II. was penciled and inked by Mel Joy San Juan and colored by Pradeep Sherawat. Those of you familiar with the backstory of Ascendant and with the campaign I ran in that universe will recognize the scene as the moment when Exodus attacks the island of Nauru.

The Cover of ACKS II Monstrous Manual

The cover of ACKS II Monstrous Manual was painted by Michael Syrigos, often called a modern-day Frazetta for his lush, Conan-esque covers. One of the great joys of working on ACKS II has been bringing the Auran Empire to life, which has meant “returning to tradition” of the old myths. Thus the ACKS II gorgon looks like a classical Greek gorgon, with wings!
